LexisNexis Opt Out & Data Removal Guide

LexisNexis makes it difficult to opt out.

Mainly because finding the removal form can be tricky—but once you’re in the right place, it only takes a few clicks.

Let’s walk through the process and remove your data from LexisNexis, step by step.

Opt-out process: 10 minutes

Removal Requirements: Email

Updated: May 29, 2025

In May 2025, data broker LexisNexis disclosed a data breach exposing personal info of over 364,000 people including names, SSNs, and emails. This shows it's not just about data being sold. Leaks happen too. Opting out limits what can be exposed next time.
Note: LexisNexis isn’t included in automated removal, but Unlimited Plan users can submit a quick custom request—our privacy experts will take care of the rest.

This step might feel counterintuitive (you want to remove your data, but you’re asked to provide more of it), but it’s necessary to find your profile.
Without your information, they won’t know which profile to delete.
So, provide your real details, but skip your Social Security number—it’s not required for the opt-out request.

  5. Provide your address and click “next”

There are more data brokers building their fortunes on your data

Searching through and opting out from every data broker is nearly impossible, and they certainly don’t make it easy to remove your data.

Here’s the good news: you don’t have to do it yourself.
